Learn Freely: Bird Box Building
Monday, May 20, 2024 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
- Create a safe place for nesting birds in your community by attending this bird box-building workshop and taking your masterpiece home.
Many bird species* depend on safe places, like bird boxes or bird nests, to raise their young. This workshop will give you the materials and tools to create a safe place.
You will also hear from a conservation expert about how we can all take action to preserve our wildlife, land and natural resources. Then find out how you can make your community safer for our songbirds.
Good to Know Before You Go:
- For safety, please wear closed-toe shoes for this event.
- You may consider bringing a bottle of water as well.
*The featured bird is a Hermit Thrush photographed by Christian Feldt. It does not nest in bird boxes but instead is representative of the songbirds in our community.
This event is a partnership with Riverbanks Zoo and their Party for the Planet initiative.
A post-event survey will be passed out with opportunities to win a behind-the-scenes tour at Riverbanks Zoo & Garden and other fun prizes!
